Blood Red Shoes have a knack for creating tracks which immediately make you want to shout and invoke serious body contortions, and this single is no different.

Within the first few seconds, 'Say Something, Say Anything' has the duo's instantly recognisable sound, offering the same kind of rip-roaring energy that one's come to expect from them. It's honest lyrics sung with dissatisfaction to perfection, with Laura-Mary's guitar dominating the song's verses.

The drums offer a mere backdrop until the chorus, when they display much more of their usual thrashing charm, evoking the lyrics' bitter undertones. The pace is slower here, less simplistic and more intense than recent singles, but 'Say Something, Say Anything' is a brilliant single which demonstrates just how good this band can be.

'Say Something, Say Anything' is released as a single through V2/Mercury on 7th April 2008.
