Tommy Sparks goes all out on an album jam-packed with, well, himself.

If you haven't heard Tommy Sparks' single 'She's Got Me Dancing', where have you been for the last four months? The self-titled album follows suit from its first single released with electro beats, eurovision tones and catchy vocals. So Scandi pop it hurts, Tommy Sparks goes all out on an album jam-packed with, well, himself. Refusing to let anyone else play, Mr Sparks dominated the recording studio; everything on this record is him.

The album highlight is opening track 'Much Too Much' with its altogether classier stance and hypnotic vocals. It's full to bursting with hooks and contagious lines but manages to sound unnervingly cool, even with the poppier-than-thou backdrop. However, there's only so much pop you can handle before you're sick and this album is no exception.

Fun for the first few tracks, and bearable thereafter, it lacks in diversity and sticks to the same formula throughout. Perhaps outside input may have brought something to the table afterall. Rating: 5/10
