This Is Music - Play Me A Sad Song (Mixtape)
The mix is to celebrate the launch of This Is Music's two new sister labels.
In celebration of the recent launch of two new sister labels (More Music and Less Music), This Is Music have created a new mixtape entitled 'Play Me A Sad Song', which they're giving away on their new website (click the 'download' link below).
Luke Williams (of This Is Music) curated, programmed and recorded the mix. Speaking of the concept behind it, he's said: "It was winter, I was in Clapton, and I was trying to get over breaking up with my girlfriend. As I was keeping a lid on self-destructing, the creative juices started flowing and this mix came together. I wanted to include tracks I knew we both loved, and also, I guess, use them to try and express some of what I felt about her. Looking back, in the back of my mind I hoped that if I could make something that touched her, I could get her back. Although it might seem somewhat naïve to imagine that a mix-tape could win her back... of course it didn't work. But hey, that's life."
