Red Gallery, 3 Rivington Street, London, EC2A 3DT.
3rd – 26th February 2012.

Canadian artist, Matthew Hawtin, brings his paintings, prints and sculptures to Shoreditch’s Red Gallery in his solo Dimensions Exhibition. Expect symmetry, futurism, bleeding edges, contrasting textures and – ooh! – hidden messages that have been created in conjunction with his brother’s record labels, Plus 8 Records and Minus Records.

Matthew, who has been making art linked to record labels since the early 1990s, said: “My work has slowly been minimalised and reduced. I think that’s what any artist wants to do, whatever medium they work with. They want their work to be redefined until it’s down to its pure essence; achieve an idea in its purest form, in a way.”

Dimensions will also be host to a live music show featuring leading techno producer, Gaiser, and his Void show, as well as resident Red Gallery DJs, Charlotte Michelle 11th and Claus Voigtmann on the 24th February.
