News: Roku Streaming Player Fed up of watching your favourite TV shows through your PC or laptop? Find yourself hurling whatever comes to hand at the monitor as the programme continually buffers? You’ll be pleased to hear about the new Roku Streaming Player then.

The Roku Streaming Player is basically a cheaper alternative to internet-enabled TVs (which often come with a hefty price tag). There are two versions: the standard Roku LT model at £50 which streams content in 720p and has Wi-Fi enabled; and the Roku 2 XS which costs £100, has an Ethernet port, streams at 1080p, and comes with Bluetooth and a multipurpose remote.

The Roku boasts an impressive 40 channels and apps including an iPlayer channel as well as UFC, Fox News and Netflix – the new online film and TV subscription service from The States.

The Roku Streaming Player is available from Amazon.
