Weekly Fashion Fix: Get The Crop Fond of a few cupcakes? You’re not going to be happy come Spring. Yep, the fashion pack’s lust for all things 90s continues with the resurgence of the crop top. If you’re up for partaking in next season’s trend, we’re sorry to say it’s time to step away from the chocolate and start perfecting those stomach crunches.

Going hell for leather on the retro theme is Topshop, whose designers have come up trumps with this All Over Peace Sign Crop Top for £16. All that’s missing is a pair of round-mirrored sunglasses. Just you wait – we bet they’re big this summer!

New Look’s offering is a more sedated affair. Cue a simple cut, washed-out grey crop top with a geometric butterfly print for £12.99. Those with a less than perfect mid-drift might prefer to don a plain white vest underneath. Just sayin’.

We don’t want to like this Illustrated People Crop Top purely because we despise the model. Er – where do you get a tan like that in January?! However, we can’t deny the candy-floss pink gets the thumbs up and the ‘Love’ slogan is destined to be seen on girls yet to take their GCSEs everywhere. £11.98 from Surfdome

We’ve been coveting the designs over at Brat and Suzie for a while now. What can we say – we’re a sucker for a squirrel on a motorbike. Who isn’t?! And now it’s available as a crop top for £22, when we’ve lost the muffin top, we’re there.

You can always trust Urban Outfitters to come up with the goods when we’re talking trends. For scenesters everywhere, this Daydreamer LA Tattoo Skull Cropped Tee is bang on the money at £14. Laid-back cool with a touch of the Day of the Dead about it.

Last up, it’s ASOS with this Pretty Rose Crop Tee by Motel for £15. If you like it but fear you’ll feel like a prom princess in it, pair with ripped tights, Doc Martens, and some battered cut-off Levis for a less prissy look. Smudged eyeliner and a boyfriend with a sweeping fringe also deemed necessary.
