Trophy Wife
Trophy Wife play a flawless live set, without even appearing to try. They are polar opposite to the laddish Johnny Borrell brand of ‘guitar indie'; about as rock n’ roll as having tea and scones with your granny. Not that it matters one jot. With tunes full of chiming melodies, funk hooks and propulsive beats, they remain delicate and understated all the way. With a support slot for Foals firmly under their belt, and the hotly awaited Bruxism EP due in October, Trophy Wife are worth seeing now – because very soon they will be the band on everyone’s lips.
