Sonisphere 2011: Bands To Watch
Behind the main events, what should you check out at Knebworth? Here’s a handy list for you.
Protest The Hero
Destroying unfavourable stereotypes about metal since they formed at 14-years-old in 1999, Protest The Hero are a Canadian quintet who play complex, inventive Metalcore (sometimes referred to as ‘Mathcore’). Featuring mind-blowing guitar and vocal skill, accompanied by the kind of melodic structures and attractive choruses usually not found in music so aggressive, Protest deserve a much more prominent spot than the one they receive on the festival’s smallest stage. Many of the fans in attendance may not want to divert their attention away from Slayer, but if you’re looking for a wholly different and perhaps more variable sound, we highly suggest you direct yourself to the Red Bull Bedroom Jam stage in time to hear such incredible songs as 'Bloodmeat', 'Blindfolds Aside' and new album hit 'C’est La Vie'.
