Joanna Gruesome - Lemonade Grrl
As much as the whole lo-fi pop thing has been done to death, when it’s done well and when it’s done by a band that clearly have a genuine love for the music that influences them then it really doesn’t matter the number of other bands making vaguely similar noises. Joanna Gruesome are a five-piece from Cardiff influenced by 90s sounds like Beat Happening and The Cherry Smash, and the excellent gruff fuzz pop of ‘Lemonade Grrl’ is part of their latest effort – an EP, available for free to download on Bandcamp now. Honest and exciting.
