Parakeet - Tomorrow
Following singer Daniel Blumberg with his Oupa project, Yuck bassist Mariko Doi becomes the latest member of the band to embark on a side project with Parakeet, a collaboration with The History of Apple Pie’s James Thomas. The nascent bands first single ‘Tomorrow’ is a typically heavy piece of big dumb fuzzy guitar rock. The woozy melody gives it a rather more intriguing disorienting quality, however, while showcasing some great punky vocals from the enigmatic Doi. A very curious but welcome diversion.
