Rum Diary star cast in Three Days to Kill.

Drive Angry and The Rum Diary actress Amber Heard is to star alongside Kevin Costner in action thriller Three Days to Kill.

McG (Terminator Salvation, This Means War) will direct from a script by Luc Besson and Adi Hasak, which sees Costner as a dying Secret Service agent who tries to make amends with his estranged family.

Variety report Heard will play a woman who offers him access to an experimental drug that could save his life - in exchange for the one last assignment despite the agent's wish to retire. Costner's character has to complete the mission while coping with the drug's hallucinatory side effects.

Heard will next be seen in Mexploitation sequel Machete Kills and thriller Paranoia, along with the indie Syrup.
