Andrea Riseborough and Olga Kurylenko are to star alongside Tom Cruise in Joseph Kosinski's untitled sci-fi.
The project was previously titled Oblivion, then Horizons, but is currently without a name. Variety report Tron Legacy director Kosinski has finally found his leading ladies, after Jessica Chastain was forced to quit due to scheduling issues.
In a future where Earth is an uninhabitable wasteland and the human race lives in the clouds, Cruise will play a soldier stationed on our planet, repairing drones that fight alien lifeforms. Kurylenko will play his lover, who stays in radio contact from above. Riseborough is the mysterious woman who crashlands on Earth, with whom Cruise falls in love.
Riseborough is currently starring in Madonna's W.E., after roles in Resistance, Brighton Rock, Never Let Me Go and Made in Dagenham. Upcoming roles include Shadow Dancer and Welcome to the Punch.
Kurylenko had roles in Hitman and Max Payne, before becoming a Bond girl in Quantum of Solace and starring in Centurion. She was recently cast in Terrence Malick's untitled new film.
Kosinski will start production in the next couple of months, ready for a July 2013 release.
