New Look At Rihanna In Battleship

The star plays US Navy officer Raikes in Peter Berg's sci-fi flick.

A new hi-res image of Rihanna in Battleship has been released, to celebrate the star's 24th birthday and her upcoming performance at the Brit Awards.

The singer makes her acting debut in Peter Berg's sci-fi action flick, inspired by the Hasbro board and clearly heavily influenced by Michael Bay's sense of spectacle.

Rihanna plays US Navy officer Raikes, a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones, based in Hawaii's Pearl Harbor. She's part of a Naval team that comes under attack from alien forces. Taylor Kitsch, about to be seen as John Carter, and True Blood's Alexander Skarsgård play brothers and fellow officers. Liam Neeson and Brooklyn Decker co-star.

Hancock director Berg works from a script by Jon Hoeber & Erich Hoeber (Red). Battleship hits UK cinemas 11th April.
