It should come as no surprise that Bong Joon-ho is assembling an exciting cast for his first US film.
The director of the brilliant Korean films The Host and Mother was revealed this week to be in talks with Chris Evans for Snow Piercer. Now new comes, via Variety, of Tilda Swinton and Jamie Bell's interest in the thriller.
Snow Piercer follows a train full of passengers battling with each other as they fight for survival in a world of snow and ice. Bong wrote the script with Oldboy director Park Chan-Wook, who also produces. Shooting will take place in Prague this March. There are no details of the kind of roles Evans, Swinton and Bell are up for.
Evans is currently at work on mob drama The Iceman, with Michael Shannon, and will be reprising his Captain America in April's The Avengers. Swinton recently turned out another incredible performance in We Need to Talk About Kevin, and will next be seen in Wes Anderson's quirkfest Moonrise Kingdom. Having recently starred as the performance capture Tintin in Steven Spielberg's riproaring adaptation, Bell will be seen in Sam Worthington thriller Man on a Ledge, and the infinitely more exciting adaptation of Filth, alongside James McAvoy.
