Esiotrot Esiotrot have just played the Twee As Fuck alldayer in London. They are supporting Darren Hayman and featuring at the cardigan clad Indietracks festival on a train line somewhere in deepest darkest Derbyshire. Wait! Come Back! This isn’t what you think...

Well, ok, it is to some extent – the sometimes a bit too winsome lyrics, the references to indie pop homeland Sweden.. But listen! Beefy horns overlap their delicate strumming on the fantastic ‘Tammy is a Lez’ and while the tag ‘fragile’ has been bandied about, Esiotrot are far too strong for that. This troupe – 7 and constantly expanding - are no wallflowers on stage and have even managed to include a whole ‘Emily Scott’ series of tracks throughout their EPs and albums- the first of which is sold out in all but a few record shops. Currently promoting 2008’s ‘Seven Apples’ you can’t get better than ‘Emily Scott gets Married’ where vocalist Duncan Barrett laments in a pretty ticked off manner that the muse for the set is going to ‘marry an estate agent’.

Huw Stephens is due to give the band a timely ‘introducing’ in September so get in ahead of him and give ‘em a listen. Otherwise you’re probably as boring as erm, that estate agent.
