Weird-out lyrics on top of more conventional, but ever-evolving, backdrops of charming pop.

On latest single ‘Middle Child Syndrome’, PET (facebook.com/petpetmusic) give off the sound of a band five records into a crafty career defined by edgy, underrated records with cult followings and critical acclaim to boot. Yet it’s only the Edinburgh group’s second fully-fledged effort, following on from June’s promising debut ‘What You Building?’.

In the space of five months, the band have swept aside charming, somewhat melancholic numbers for much grander works; their most recent release being flung up into a flurry of drama and energy. Recording in their self-named 'Cardboard Cave' (we presume it’s a cute garage made out of boxes found outside local newsagents), they spill out weird-out lyrics on top of more conventional but ever-evolving backdrops of charming pop.
