First On: Spectral Park
ListenWatchEar-splitting songs, all with charming nuances.

When you first hear Spectral Park, you imagine yourself in some grimy local pub-turned-venue, watching young so-and-sos throwing themselves across a tiny stage, with hairspray-addled trims and a set of adoring teens hanging on every word, right at the very front. Only in what is largely a unique retuning of 80s garage punk and modern day rock ‘n roll, the band losing their shit is already one solitary figure, one man and his bedroom.
One hopes said bedroom has thick walls, as the man behind the name makes some positively ear-splitting songs, all with charming nuances, granted, but they’re loud all the same. Only a few existing, raucous songs appear on the Bandcamp, with one masterfully crafted video accompanying ‘L’appel Du Vide’. The less time we spend worrying about how this could transfer to a live show, the better. For now we revel in the youthful exuberance of one man’s excitable work.
