Producers develop crushes over how they produce and construct samples. That much is obvious when you listen to the glistening, hyperactive glow emerging out of Star Slinger’s Roland box, or when Animal Collective’s Geologist hits the bass notes to colossal effect. The same can be said for WILDTHINGS - a producer from Chicago - and all of his work to date.

You could draw a comparison to Star Slinger once more. Only atop of squealing, repetitive arrangements of high-pitched clips is a more grounded, faltering vocal track. "I am not the kind of crook to hurt you" he declares, above a stimulated collection of looped synth patterns. It’s electronic music audacious enough to enter pop territory; for better or worse. It’s risk-taking, gutsy stuff, the kind that can only yield fascinating results.
