The upcoming genetically enhanced shooter cleans up at the conference.
Posted 1st July 2011, 9:08am in GamesSo, today, all applause goes to 2K Games and Irrational Games for nabbing themselves 75 awards at the recent E3 conference for the upcoming sequel BioShock Infinite.
Including 39 "Game Of Show" awards, the game received unprecedented praise from the press, with E! Online calling it "simply gorgeous".
"At this year's E3, members of the Irrational team were honored to see the amazing games our industry friends and colleagues are producing. And we are thrilled that the gaming media selected BioShock Infinite as a standout title at the show," said Ken Levine, creative director and president of Irrational Games.
And, as if that's not enough, the game earned itself the industry's most coveted E3 honour - The Game Critics Awards' "Game Of Show". The first BioShock was awarded the Game Critics Awards' "Best Action/Adventure Game" back in 2007.

So, let's regard this game as officially HYPED.
The game sees players in the boots of former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to Columbia to rescue Elizabeth, a young woman imprisoned there since childhood. Developing a relationship with Elizabeth and augmenting his abilities with her, the duo will help each other to escape a city that is literally falling from the sky. Columbia happens to be a floating city, and a symbol of American ideals, but the fanfare of its launch has gone awry, as the city disappears into the clouds. With high-speed Sky-line battles, massive indoor and outdoor battles and the ability to harness the power of dozens of new weapons, it looks that BioShock Infinite won't just be the darling of the critics.
BioShock Infinite is due for release next year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
