New Battlefield 3 DLC On The Way?
NewsEA haven't formally announced it, but it's coming...

Peter Ausnit of EA announced during the games giant's quarterly financial report that some new DLC would be announced during a New York event next week.
And that's about all we know.
This will be Battlefield 3's first DLC not to be included in a pre-order deal or a special edition, but nobody's quite sure what the DLC could be yet. New maps? New modes? New weapons? It could be something to completely shock the Battlefield world, like customisable haircuts and personal demons of your soldiers. We've killed thousands of people on Battlefield and our soldier has never once been to see an occupational psychologist. What's it doing to him deep down?!

There's speculation that the DLC announcement may see the introduction of a paid subscription service from EA, like Call Of Duty Elite. This would see a paid-for version of Battlelog, giving premium users additional features and free access to all upcoming DLC. In our juvenile lefty way, this is something we raise a suspicious eyebrow at immediately, but is it something gamers would find worthwhile?
And if it's not that, there's a habit in the Battlefield world to re-hash old maps and, while the Back To Karkand DLC was a great addition, it'd be a thrill to see some completely new maps for the game's stunning multiplayer mode.
But if you haaaave to pander to the nostalgia of your fans, EA, then we'd like to put Laguna Presa from Battlefield: Bad Company 2 into the hat, ahem...
