White Denim

'Anyone that is sporting white denim with pizza, grass, grease and make-up stains on them I can totally respect.'

White Denim Austin garage-rock trio and one of this year's most hyped acts, White Denim are due to release their new album, 'Workout Holiday' this June via Full Time Hobby. We cornered the band's bassist, Steve Terebeki, for a brief (and we mean brief) Q&A...

Hello, White Denim. How would you like to introduce yourselves?
We usually like doing this with a handshake / hug and then we show our IDs, but here, I'll just say we are Steve Terebecki, Josh Block, and James Petralli.

Your EP was recorded in a trailer. Does that mean your music is 'trailer thrash'?!
Yes! Trailer Thrash is an excellent way to describe our music; I think we'll steal that.

You've been in 'hot tip' lists for both 2007 and 2008. What do you expect to be included in during 2009?
Once every blog in the blog world blogs us then we'll officially be cold cuts.

The lead track from your EP is called 'Let's Talk About It'. Are you all amateur psychiatrists?
Amateur? You obviously didn't do enough research.

New bands often get compared to other artists who sound nothing like them. What's the oddest comparison you've ever read about yourselves?
We got stray cats once. We also get The White Stripes constantly but we only really have 'white' in common.

Have you ever actually worn white jeans?
Josh and James have tried it out. They luckily quit. I never have, never will.

Has anyone ever worn them and not looked a complete tit?
Anyone that is sporting white denim with pizza, grass, grease and make-up stains on them I can totally respect.
