The thing that’s really striking about Bear Hands is that these boys love their guitars. They love making loud noises and certainly know how to harness the sound they create. It's like normal indie rock pumped up with steroids. Bigger guitar noises, bigger drums and four badass kids who really know how to play. The music is poppy at its core, but it is saved from being just like most other things out there by their mastery of their noise. Through this, the band make you want to get up, dance, move around: anything to help release the energy that they build up.
The audience at Maggie Maes Gibson room also agree. Even the most cynical looking hipsters are bobbing their heads vigorously with the hint of a smile on their stone like faces. At the center of the stage, under the grinning of the bassist, a dance circle begins to emerge, pulling everyone close to it in to dance with the same abandon that Bear Hands play their set.
