Why, you ask? Well, we'll give you a few examples. Those lovely boys from Alt-J seem to be running away from the pack with three nominations, as they face off the likes of One Direction, Mumford & Sons, The xx and Muse for Best British Band.
At the same time, Jessie Ware has her eye on two prizes, going up against Bat For Lashes, the late Amy Winehouse, Emeli Sandé and Paloma Faith in the Best British Female category.
In the running for the Best British Live Act, The Vaccines and Coldplay will be fighting it off with Muse, The Rolling Stones and - you guessed it! - Mumford & Sons.
And that's only three examples of the diversity of acts covered in 2013. Just wait until you see the Best International Female nominees...
