Andrew WK To Record New Album This Summer

"2011 is the time for me to make this new album," he says.

Andrew WK Andrew WK has revealed he's working on a new record, his first album proper since 2006's 'Close Calls With Brick $Walls$'.

Speaking to Rock The $Walls$ in an interview you can hear below, he confirmed that he's "been recording a new album this past year," but that it's been "a bit tricky to get that recording time inline."

"I would like to be able to block out time with more stoicism," he explained, "but when someone says 'Hey, do you wanna come party with us?' It's been hard for me to say no. It's very tempting, because it's just so much fun.

But, at some point you have to block out some time. So, this summer, 2011, is the time for me to make this new album."

And it doesn't sound as though he's that far off making some headway.

"We've got some good songs already going, we've got some mixing going, the people are in place, the team is in place, now it's just a matter of actually doing it. I'd say June and July, even August, is all about recording the album. This summer, 2011, album time."
