Female Solo Artist Brit Award Goes To Laura Marling

The ceremony is taking place at The O2 in London right now.

Laura Marling The winner for British Female Solo Artist at the 2011 Brit Awards has just been announced as Laura Marling

She was up against Cheryl Cole, Ellie Goulding, Paloma Faith and Rumer.

Marling released her second album, 'I Speak Because I Can', last year. It was the follow up to her 2008 debut 'Alas, I Cannot Swim'.

The ceremony is taking place at The O2 in London right now (Tuesday 15th February), broadcast live on ITV1.

So far the biggest winners of the night are Arcade Fire and Tinie Tempah, who have picked up two gongs each:

British Male Solo Artist - Plan B
British Breakthrough Act - Tinie Tempah
International Album - Arcade Fire, 'The Suburbs'
International Male Solo Artist - Cee Lo Green
British Single - Tinie Tempah, 'Pass Out'
International Group - Arcade Fire
International Breakthrough Act - Justin Bieber
