Morrissey Morrissey has never been known for his tact in commenting on delicate issues in the past - and the Smiths frontman sparked a new wave of controversy and anger after his recent comments onstage in Warsaw on Sunday (24th July).

The singer was about to play The Smiths' song 'Meat is Murder' when he branded the actions of Anders Breivik, the man responsible for last weeks twin attacks in Norway, as "nothing" in comparison to McDonalds and KFC.

Onlookers in the crowd allege that Morrissey said: "We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead. Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Shit every day."

A spokesperson for the singer said that Morrissey will not be commenting further, as he feels the statement speaks for itself.
