After Black Lips got chased out of India back in January, the Atlanta boys ended up staying with their mates King Khan (one half of The King Khan & BBQ Show) and Mark Sultan (the other half of The King Khan & BBQ Show). Cooped up in a cold Berlin, the guys created a garage rock supergroup and recorded their self-titled debut album: ‘The Almighty Defenders’.The record will be out through Vice Records on 22nd September (in the States - UK date to be confirmed), whilst the band made their live debut at the NXNE Festival in Toronto on 17th June where they all wore choir robes… make of it what you will.
None of the bands involved have any UK dates planned, but they are currently touring the US. Find dates here for Black Lips, and here for The King Kahn & BBQ Show.
