Blur To Warm Up In Wolverhampton

Band to play small gigs before July

Blur The newly reunited Blur are to warm up for their Hyde Park gig with a series of small gigs, Damon Albarn has revealed.

The singer talked to Zane Lowe on Radio One about the warm up dates.

He said: "We'll have to play quite a few warm-ups so we'll start really small and get bigger. You can't just walk on stage after a ten-year hiatus and play Hyde Park, it's a bit foolhardy."

"We'll definitely be playing Wolves, that's for certain. We would play Dudley JBs but it doesn't exist any more, so the nearest to that. There are some people who have been very close to us for a very long time who emanate from the Black Country."

No dates for the gigs have yet been announced. As previously reported Blur will play Hyde Park in London on July 3. Tickets go on sale tomorrow and can be bought from here.
