Clarence Clemons, saxophonist for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band is seriously ill after suffering a stroke. The 69-year-old reportedly fell ill at his home in Florida. Though his condition is not yet known, The 411 reported that members of the band were being advised to get down to the state as soon as possible.
Known to fans as the 'Big Man', Clemons has been in poor health for several years. Last year he had both his knees replaced and underwent spinal fusion surgery. Despite this, he has remained an active performer, lending his hand to Lady Gaga's latest album and refusing to miss any Springsteen show to date.
Earlier in the year, Clemons told Rolling Stone: "As long as my mouth, hands and brain still work I'll be out there doing it."
"I'm going to keep going 'til I'm not there anymore."
