Posted 4th December 2012, 3:57pm in News, by DIY News DeskDrummer and songwriter Nick Hodgson has announced this afternoon (4th December) that he's left his band, Kaiser Chiefs.
"I can confirm I have left Kaiser Chiefs after 15 spectacular years," he posted on Twitter. "I'm moving on. I wish the rest of the band the very best!"
His former bandmates vocalist Ricky Wilson and bassist Simon Rix also posted the news, with Wilson saying: "The door is on the latch and the key under the mat. X", and Rix commenting: "Good luck to @nickkaiserchief with his plans. I can exclusively confirm we will still be collaborating on pints in pubs."
Hodgson was with the band for six albums in total, including one in their pre-Kaiser Chiefs guise (Parva) and this year's compilation, 'Souvenir: The Singles 2004–2012'.
It's not yet known - although it seems unlikely - whether Hodgson will perform with the band at their recently announced Leeds Arena launch, set to take place on 13th September next year.
