Emmy The Great is the latest artist to join the Pledge Music bandwagon (Pledge-wagon? -Ed) to fund her new album.Pledge Music, if you don't know (and by now, you should), allows artists to fund releases by getting fans to 'pledge' to pay for certain items, goodies and exclusives ahead of release. Once they hit their target sum, the fans pay and off they go to record/release their record, with all the 'pledgers' receiving their promised 'stuff' at the appropriate juncture. Simple, yeah?
Writing on the site, Emmy explains "I’ve almost finished the songs for the second album. We’ve found a producer and a place to work, and we plan to hit the studio in a month. It’s been a very strange few months, and I can’t wait to make a record of them."
"I’m really excited about what we’re going to get out of this experience, and I don’t just mean making the record."
