Erland & The Carnival have announced they will be releasing a new album early next year.Their second effort, 'Nightingale' is currently due on 7th March through Full Time Hobby. It follows on from their January 2010 self-titled debut.
The London-based trio - fronted by Erland Cooper - have chosen the cover for the record already: a documentary photo of the Enfield poltergeist at work in the late 70s, with Janet Hodgson being thrown across her bedroom. "I remember seeing the shot in a book when I was a kid and it always stuck with me,” says guitarist Simon Tong. "It influenced the music because we’re trying to create a soundtrack to an imaginary horror film about the supernatural."
The first single from the album will be 'Map Of An Englishman'.
