Kaiser Chief's Peanut undergoes emergency operation

The Kaiser Chiefs' Peanut has been admitted to hospital in Brazil after a bout of appendicitis.The keyboard player had his appendix removed on Thursday and is still recovering in hospital, causing the remainder of the band to visit the US without him.
In a statement on their official website the band said: "We've made it to L.A., but unfortunately we're a man down. We didn't want to make a drama out of it so we kept this quiet until now. Peanut had to have an operation to remove his appendix on Thursday, so he's been in a hospital in Brazil for a few days."
"The operation was a success, he's ok, and managed to play with us at Planeta Terra in Brazil on Saturday night, but he's unable to fly to the USA until Wednesday."
The band will be playing in Los Angeles tonight and appearing on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno before Peanut joins the band for the remainder of the dates on Thursday.
