Justin Timberlake To Return With New Single Today?
With rumours of a new track featuring Jay-Z, Beyoncé and Timberland, the wait may well be over.
There's an imaginary glass box sat, gathering dust, in the corner of the imaginary pop sixth form common room. Inside the box sits a big, red button that sets off a deafening klaxon. While the current students of the Imaginary School of Pop go about their business, they all know that on any legitimate sighting of their errant head boy Justin Timberlake, the glass must be broken and all hell will break loose.

It's finally happening, guys. This is not a drill. Like a precious few others, in his absence Justin has become more than just a brilliant pop star, but a legitimate icon of something better. From 'Cry Me A River' to 'SexyBack', it would be folly to say his brand of future leaning R&B tinged chart bothering wasn't celebrated in its own time, but the absence has only made the heart grow fonder.
After all, there's been no shortage of the original JT. We've seen his cheeky grin popping up in all kinds of flashy Hollywood flicks. It doesn't matter he was quite good in The Social Network - with the greatest respect to Trent Reznor - he didn't do the theme song, did he?
The facts. While it seems tenuous, mysteriously named 'hip hop insiders' are convinced that Timberlake will 'drop' his comeback later today. There's evidence to support that with a cryptic tweet Justin sent out a few hours ago: "Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST..."
Florida's Radio Now 97.9 are nailing their flag further to the mast, claiming the track will feature Jay-Z; someone Timberlake wanted to work with on previous album 'FutureSex/LoveSounds'. "Look, Jay-Z has put out 11 albums, and I was talking about doing a collaboration with him, and he said, ‘I can't do it right now, but I'll get you on the next album.' I was like, ‘No, man, I don't work like that," JT told Vanity Fair at the time.
"This sounded good to me for you and me to do together, and if it doesn't work, then I totally get it, but I won't be putting an album out next year; these aren't a dime a dozen to me.'"
Further rumours suggest some involvement from Beyoncé and Timberland, with the latter adding fuel to the fire, tweeting: "haha im laughin right now. i told y'all the storm is coming this year."
We'll know the real truth later today. If you need us before then, you'll know exactly where to find us.
