Little Boots Last.fm has started it's countdown for the 'Best of 2009', a chart that ranks artists based on their total amount of scrobbled plays throughout the year.

It only includes artists who've had an album released between 1st October 2008 and 16th November 2009, and it doesn't include live albums, greatest hits collections, EPs and singles.

This first part of the chart covers rankings 40-21, with 20-11 being announced next week, and 10-1 the week after.

There's nothing really surprising in there so far, given those registered with the site, though it is a shame to see Little Boots so low down:

40. Little Boots
39. Florence & The Machine
38. Kasabian
37. Regina Spektor
36. The Fray
35. Metric
34. The XX
33. Eminem
32. Fever Ray
31. Depeche Mode
30. U2
29. Guns N' Roses
28. Nickelback
27. The All-American Rejects
26. Bat For Lashes
25. Passion Pit
24. Royksopp
23. A Day To Remember
22. Arctic Monkeys
21. Grizzly Bear
