Chances are at one stage or another you've stumbled on the work of Trinidadian Fimber Bravo. Relying on a steel-pan and a wealth of experience dating back to the 1970s and his own work as a founding member of The 20th Century Steel Band, according to The Guardian he's been sampled by J-Lo, amongst others, but this is his first solo release, the 'Con-Fusion' LP.
The new single 'Dimbaya' is due out as a digital download on 15th April through Moshi Moshi. It links arms with the previously unveiled 'The Way We Live Today', which featured Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor.
'Dimbaya', which means "to celebrate", is a suitably uplifting track, its pan-meets-squelchy synths providing for a brilliantly refreshing insight into Bravo's heritage and unique style.
