If the route to success involved surrounding yourselves with all the right people, many a band would have a route-one access. And although TRAAMS - a three-piece from Chichester - are a fast-rising bunch it has little to do with playing shows with Parquet Courts or recording with MJ from Hookworms or Rory Attwell. It's more down to the fact that they're spilling out some ferocious, wall-shaking noise from those three instruments of theirs.

It's landed them a deal on FatCat (PAWS, Frightened Rabbit) with a debut EP, 'Ladders', scheduled for later on this year. The group recorded with Attwell in late 2011 but the songs forming this first work were the product of sessions with MJ, adding to a long list of Neu favourites - Weirds, Menace Beach - who've hung out in the producer's studio.

A new track, separate from the EP - 'Mexico' - isn't bothered with courtesy or decent manners. It settles into its skin from the opening second, Stu, Adam and Leigh forcing out a sound that doesn't nestle up to any given formula, but still manages to remind you of some of your very favourite bands.

It's a rude awakening, a necessary shock to the system, the first time you hear TRAAMS. DIY's got the premiere of 'Mexico', which you can stream below.

TRAAMS support Parquet Courts at London's 100 Club, 19th May. They play London's Shacklewell Arms on 28th June supporting Electric Moon.
