Matador Unveil Massive 6 CD 21st Birthday Box Set

Matador is set to celebrate it's 21st birthday with a six CD box set.

Pavement Matador is set to celebrate it's 21st birthday with a six CD box set as well as the previously announced three day Las Vegas festival.

'Matador at 21' will chronicle the history of the label, and includes five CDs or remastered tracks and one of live recordings from the label's 10th anniversary celebration shows held in New York back in 1999.

Unreleased tracks from Pavement, Mogwai, Cat Power and Bardo Pond are included, as well as an 85 page book on the label and 36 custom Matador poker chips. That Vegas thing has legs, clearly.

The label is also set to release a double LP of the fifth disc from the package, entitled Matador Today and comprising of songs released nice 2008.

Proceeds from sales will go to three charities chosen by Matador's owners: Chicago's Jane Addams Hull House Association, New York's Ali Forney Center, and the Heart Institute at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. All the bands will be donating their royalties too.
