My Bloody Valentine To Release New Album By The End Of 2012?
"We're halfway through mixing," says Kevin Shields.
Posted 7th November 2012, 5:32pm in News, by DIY News DeskMy Bloody Valentine seem to be preparing to release their brand new album after all....
After all of this wait, it looks as though the band will be finally releasing the follow-up to 'Loveless' before 2012 is even finished. Who'd have thought that'd be the case?
Commenting on the band's progress back in May, Kevin Shields said the record was 'almost done', and now he's told NME that it's looking likely that we'll hear it before the year is out.
"We're halfway through mixing," the frontman told NME, before adding some extra details. "I think with this record, people who like us will immediately connect with something. Based on the very, very few people who’ve heard stuff – some engineers, the band, and that’s about it – some people think it’s stranger than ‘Loveless’. I don’t. I feel like it really frees us up, and in the bigger picture it’s 100 per cent necessary.”
We'll keep you posted on a possible release date.
My Bloody Valentine recently released reissues of 'Isn’t Anything, Loveless and EP’s 1988 – 1991'.
