Nicola Roberts Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts has revealed details of her debut solo single and album, along with a list of top collaborators.

'Beat Of My Drum' is set for release on June 5th - teaming up with Diplo and Dimitro Tikovoi for her first release. That will be followed by an album, 'Cinderella's Eyes', later in the year. That features further collaborations with Metronomy and Dragonette.

“The album has a very British sound, that was important to me,” explains Nicola. “I co-wrote all of the songs on the record. The stories I tell in the album are things that have happened to me and life in general. Some are happy, some songs are a little cheeky and one song is sad.”

Speaking to DIY about the project, Metronomy's Joeseph Mount explained: "An email just came through saying "do you wanna have a go at writing some songs with her". It's like "well, yeah". It's a no-brainer for me. I'm a fan."

"I've always been really interested in writing with different people," he continued. "I've always been in to pop music and found it interesting. For a while I've been doing lots of little bits and bobs with people."

"It's such a ridiculous situation to find yourself in that you're going from seeing this person on TV or in tabloids, and the next thing you're embarking on this creative adventure together. You're suddenly in probably the most intimate situation, where you're talking about lyrics and song meanings. It's very surreal but very enjoyable."
