Race Horses Announce Split
The band cancel (almost) all future plans via a Facebook post.
Posted 11th January 2013, 1:16pm in News, by DIY News DeskWelsh five-piece Race Horses have announced they are to split. Speaking via a Facebook post, they said they were "creatively… bound for different places".
The band released second album, 'Furniture' in September in last year, the follow-up to their 2010 debut, Goodbye Falkenburg. They were due to head out on tour in the middle of next month to support Kaiser Chiefs. As also explained in the statement - they will now no longer be appearing.
They have instead organised a one-off final gig at Cardiff's Clwb Ifor Bach on 9th February, "for anyone who would like to come to see us for the last time.
The full statement (or at least the English version) reads:
"We are sorry to announce that we are splitting up as band.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us, come to our gigs and listened to our music.
We have enjoyed the past few years and are proud of what we have done together, but it's the end of the road for us as a band. It is clear that, creatively, we are bound for different places.
Sadly, this means that we will have to cancel the February tour dates with the Kaiser Chiefs, and all other upcoming listed dates.
However, we have decided to organise one last gig for anyone who would like to come to see us for the last time."
Shortly after the release of 'Furniture', we filmed Race Horses in session, where they performed 'Sister' and 'Nobody's Son', both taken from the album. Watch below.
