The Maccabees will be playing their 'first gigs in quite a long time'.

The Maccabees will be playing their "first gigs in quite a long time" next month (February) , having nearly finished their new album.Updating fans via their blog, the band revealed: "Hope you had a good new year, we did this time around. Since then though we've been straight back into finishing the record, nearing the end of the mixing. It's a relief and a thrill to hear the songs back and realise that the year long writing process was well worth it. As well as that, we've booked our first gigs in quite a long time. In February we'll be doing a few smallish London shows to play you some of the new stuff and get us back into the swing of it before the first tour proper in March."
