The White Stripes Jack And Meg White plus Von Bondies front man Jason Stollsteimer were all called to testify on the first day of the White Stripes royalties lawsuit trial.

White and Stollsteimer were both questioned about their fight at Detroit’s Magic Stick nightclub in 2003.

According to detnews.com, Stollsteimer said the feud begun when he found got a message from White two years previous, he told the court: "I found a note stuck to my door with a knife in it."

He added that the note read - "That's the last time I help you out," and was accompanied by a copy of a magazine article where he apparently insulted White.

White dismissed the accusation saying that the story was a "a laughable lie", commenting on the later fight: "We fought each other. I claimed he pulled my hair out and was punching me."

He was later asked if he had vowed to ruin Jim Diamond’s reputation and replied: "I believe I said this was going to ruin his reputation, if he did something like this."

Meg took to the stand to confirm that Diamond had been paid fairly for his work on the records, she added that he did not act as producer on their debut – that role being taken by White himself.
