We Have Band We Have Band have won Glastonbury Festival's 2009 Emerging Talent competition.

They beat the likes of Stornoway, The Gentle Good, The Slips, Yr Ods, Dead Like Harry and The Mojo Fins.

The judges, who included Michael and Emily Eavis, Huw Stephens and Q journalists, commented: "The decision was unanimous. We Have Band are strikingly original, energetic and deserving of a main stage slot."

Emily Eavis further commented: "The whole weekend went really, really well. It was a particularly high standard this year and I'm really pleased that all 12 of the finalists will be playing at the Festival. The people who come along to watch the finals range from curious Pilton locals to hardened music journalists and We Have Band definitely united the whole crowd. They were just so upbeat and energetic - I think they'll definitely be capable of making it work on a big stage at the Festival. And now that they're booked, that's the bill pretty much complete for this year. There are no more slots left now!"

Previous winners include Golden Silvers, The Subways and Scouting For Girls.

Glastonbury Festival will be held from 24th - 28th June.
