Love Is All Love Is All's Åke Strömer (saxophone, keyboards) has prepared a summer mixtape for us, featuring some of his favourite tracks of the moment from the likes of Peter Gabriel, YACHT and The Beachniks.

The band will play at Indietracks Festival in Derbyshire this weekend (24th July), and if you like what you hear here you should probably pick up their new album - 'Two Thousand and Ten Injuries' was released earlier this year through Polyvinyl Records, and you can read our review of it here:

Album Reviews: Love Is All - Two Thousand And Ten Injuries

Peter Gabriel - Shock The Monkey

I just bought Peter Gabriel’s first 4 records and I've had a lot of whole days of listening only to Peter Gabriel. I'm trying to figure out how to make songs like this right now.

Me at 14 would kill me if he knew.

YACHT - Waste Of Time

Love this song. She sounds so cool. Totally modern day Ann Sexton.

The Flirts - Jukebox (Don't Put Another Dime)

Fantastic girl group pop song.

Weave! - Bravery

We played with this band in LA in April and they were really fantastic. It was the last night of our almost month long tour and I got really drunk. When I got home I found their CD in my suitcase. So look out for me when I've had a little too much to drink. Apparently I steal things. Promise I'll pay them back next time I see them! It's wrong to steal music kids!

Blue Cheer - Summertime Blues

I've been building a bunch fuzz boxes this month and because of that I've also listened to a lot of longhaired late 60's fuzz pedal music. Like this one. Maybe my favorite fuzz sound ever. Also Guitar Wolf's version of this is amazing.

Queen - Under Pressure

After our last tour in the US. Me, Josephine and Wyatt drove back the van from Los Angeles to New York.

And I think this was the song we played most times. It's really an amazing song and a really great energy booster if you've been driving for ten hours through a thunderstorm.

Def Leppard - Animal

Another tour van classic. So much we felt like paying some homage to it in our song Dust from the latest record.

The Beachniks - Coney Island

Maybe my favorite band now. The Beachniks. They're great friends of ours from New York and we got to play with them now and I was standing up front being such a dorky fan. It was fantastic!

Edwin Starr - Twenty-Five Miles

Fantastic song. Just saw the ”Standing In The Shadows Of Motown” documentary the other day. That Motown band can make anyone sound awesome. Joan Osborne is singing in the film and doesn't sound terrible. So basically it's now actually been proved.

Beat Happening - Indian Summer

Love this song. Good end to a summer mixtape.
