Wild Nothing Wild Nothing, aka Virginian songwriter Jack Tatum, releases his debut album 'Gemini' on 1st June via Captured Tracks.

You can watch the video for his single 'Chinatown', if you like, in our Videos section.

Here, however, Jack has given us his 'Soundtrack'; a list of songs that have some importance to him, and that, honestly, would sound great Soundtracking your afternoon. If you can hunt down the ones that aren't on Spotify, that is.

Orange Juice - Flesh Of My Flesh

This is just a fun song. It's got horns. and its fun to sing along with the chorus because the words are so mushed together.

The Field Mice - Fabulous Friend

There is a YouTube video for this song that's just a picture of Kevin and Paul from The Wonder Years so I always think about them when I listen to this. They are fabulous friends. I love the simple drums in this song, I try and do the same thing a lot I've realized.

Echo And The Bunnymen - With A Hip

Bass line gets you moving for sure. This is about as goth as I can get.

Sonic Youth - Shadow Of A Doubt

I think this song is really sad. The harmonics are really interesting and messy.

Ride - Daydream

This is probably my favorite Ride song. I think it's the vocal melody. Makes the song for me.

The Go-Betweens - Head Full Of Steam

Favorite song by one of my favorite bands. Wonderful lyrics. "She plays hard to get along with, but she might drop by. She never had a nickname but then nor have I. I don't mind." You can tell in the video for this song that they don't take themselves too seriously which I think is great.

The Wake - Plastic Flowers

The Wake have so many good singles, particularly the ones alongside 'Here Comes Everybody', 'Pale Spectre' and 'Gruesome Castle' and both top notch. This one just gets to me. Probably the "ah ah ah"s in the beginning.

The Servants - It's My Turn

This is a really tight song. It flows really well and stays very put together. The chorus is the perfect turn from the verses. Love it.

Section 25 - Inspiration

Such a good song. Sometimes long songs bore me to tears but this one is 8 minutes long and I never seem to notice. I think it's the perfect synth-pop song. Much better than a lot of New Order songs, eek.

Girls - Headache

I don't honestly listen to Girls that often but this came on the other day while I was making dinner with the windows open and I had the fans going, drinking a beer. Just seemed too good to be true. Perfect mood.
