Brian Cox Set For Magical Pilot

Coriolanus star signs on for Gotham.

British actor Brian Cox (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) is to star in the ABC drama pilot Gotham according to Deadline.

Megan Ketch plays the central role of Detective Annie Travers who discovers a secret magical history in New York while investigating the seemingly impossible murder of a night club owner.

Cox will star as the mysterious owner of a clock shop, Alderman Morrill. Morrill is described as an, "intelligent, sharp-eyed gentleman, who is entrusted to keep the magic world New York City running on an even keel."

The pilot is written by Michael Green (The River) and Francis Lawrence (Touch, Water for Elephants) will direct.
