Dennis Quaid And Michael Chiklis Approached For CBS Pilot

Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis tapped for roles in Las Vegas based drama.

Both Dennis Quaid (Innerspace) and Michael Chiklis (The Shield) are in negotiations to star in a new period drama pilot Deadline report.

The untitled project - for CBS - is based on the true story of Ralph Lamb the longtime Sherriff of Las Vegas.

Quaid will play Lamb - a former rodeo cowboy - should negotiations progress, with Chiklis taking on the part of Chicago mobster Johnny Savino - recently relocated to Las Vegas. Savino is described as a "ruthless killer with a polished edge."

Nicholas Pileggi (Goodfellas) has co-written the script with Greg Walker. James Mangold (Walk the Line) will direct.

Pileggi and Walker will executive produce with Cathy Konrad (3:10 to Yuma) and Arthur Sarkissian (Rush Hour)

Quaid was most recently seen on the big screen in the remake of Footloose and Chiklis was last seen in the TV super-hero series No Ordinary Family.
