George R.R. Martin Announces Game Of Thrones Season Three To Fans In LondonNews
Author tells audience at the Bloomsbury Theatre of the shows' renewal by HBO.

Michael Lombardo programming president of HBO, announced earlier today that Game of Thrones will indeed return for a third season.
Fans in London lucky enough to be attending a talk and signing session by author of the enormously successful series of books the show is based on, George R.R.Martin, heard the news from the author himself on stage. "Just a couple of hours ago, earlier today, in Los Angeles Michael Lombardo the president of HBO announced that Game of Thrones has been picked up for a third season," he told the audience. He continued, "10 more episodes will cover the first act of A Storm of Swords which we are indeed dividing into two seasons which is good because it gives me a little more time to...otherwise you can't have the show catching up with me!"
Martin has completed 5 books of a proposed series of 7 with the fifth book, A Dance With Dragons, taking a whopping five years to finish.
Speaking about the TV series renewal, Lombardo had this to say, "series creators David Benioff and D.B.Weiss raised our expectations for the second season and then surpassed them."
Deadline report that 3.9 million viewers in the US tuned in for the Season Two premiere on April 1st which was 74% higher than the Season One debut. Add in the viewers for the repeats of the epsiodes and its now been seen by an audience of 8.3 million and is on track to easily surpass the Season One average of 9.3 million viewers.
