Rejoice American Horror Story fans, for the divine Jessica Lange will return to the show in Season 2.
With creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk stating last year that the show would be an anthology style series - with each season a self-contained story - fans were up in arms at the loss of beloved characters and actors.
At the time Murphy had this to say: "Every season of the show will be a different haunting. That’s always been the plan. Every season of the show will have a beginning, middle and end, and all new characters and setting.”
Whilst this is most definitely still the grand plan for Season 2, on the subject of the cast Murphy had teased: "We’re still negotiating with a handful (of the cast members) about returning... We’re also meeting with new actors whom we’ve targeted roles for. I will say that Connie (Britten) and Dylan (McDermott) will not be playing the leads of the show in the second season. We’d love for them to come back and do something, maybe a smaller role or a cameo."
Murphy appeared on US show Watch What Happens Live on Monday February 6th as reported on The Huffington Post, where host Andy Cohen asked if Lange would make an appearence on Season 2 of American Horror Story, Murphy simply replied, "yes."
Quite how big Lange's role will be is up for debate but for fans her mere presence is essential to the show. Lange has won both a Golden Globe and SAG award this year for her barnstorming performance as the unsettling Constance Langdon in Season 1.
